Criteria for IELTS

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a standardized test designed to assess the English language proficiency of non-native English speakers. While there is no pass or fail in the IELTS exam, universities and organizations set their own minimum score requirements for admission or employment purposes.

Minimum Score Requirements:

Overall Band Score: Most universities and organizations require a minimum overall band score, typically ranging from 5.5 to 7.5, depending on the institution and program.
Individual Band Scores: In addition to the overall band score, institutions may also specify minimum scores for each individual section of the IELTS exam (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking). These individual band score requirements vary depending on the program and institution.

Test Format: The IELTS exam consists of four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Each section is scored on a scale of 0 to 9, and the overall band score is the average of the four individual band scores.
Validity: IELTS scores are valid for two years from the test date.
Test Centers: IELTS exams are conducted by authorized test centers located in various countries around the world. Candidates can choose their preferred test center and test date based on availability.
